Neulsom (Fusion Gugak)
Neulsom is the acronym of this fusion gugak group's real Korean name which means “People Who Always Cultivate Their Talents.” This group was formed to foster passion for gugak and to try various new things for the diversification of the concert culture. They play their music in various ways that are all rooted in traditions but are infused with creative, challenging and experimental spirit to seek music that can communicate with everyone. |

Miak (Korean Painting Performance)
The group consists of artist lee, who is in charge of Korean painting and artists park and choi, who play the gayageum. When they perform overseas, they communicate to others through traditional images of Korea. Miak is a group whose performance forms a ring of communication among their audience. |
Honeybread (Rock)
They are a team of composers based in Gwangju who is working with the rock band, “Arteriosclerosis,” which was formed in 2000. This team selected Gwangju as their base to contribute to the development of music In Gwangju. Through various activities, they have proven that musicians can actively pursue music even in the provinces. Their dream is to set a good example to fledgling musicians. |

SuriSuriMahasuri (World Music)
The music performed by this group is of indistinct nationality and is created by Omar's Arab singing style and sounds from various instruments such as the didgeridoo of Australia, an ancient instrument called morchang which exists in many countries under different names and various Middle Eastern percussion instruments. When the audience asks them to which country their music belongs, this group just answers that their music is a world music that everyone can relate to. |
Mulgogi Byul (Rock)
This is a four-man indie band that pursues endless change and evolves constantly. They have been performing since October 2002 in various clubs near Hongik University such as Lydian, Jammers and Rolling Stone. They have been influenced by bands such as Nirvana, Coldplay and Fishmans, and their music is part of a new genre that is emotionally moving and dreamlike. |

Mayan (Latin Dance Workshop)
A Latin Dance Workshop will be hosted by the biggest Salsa society active in Gwangju, South Jolla Province Area with over 5,000 members. Anyone can join and learn Salsa through this 30-minute lesson.
Maite, the salsa musician, will be performing on the Main Stage later today so if you would like to dance to her salsa music, come and learn to salsa. |
Macintosh (Rock)
They are the Rock band club at Chonnam National University that boasts a 35-year history. They actively participate in many concerts held on and off the campus. |

Yehyang Chamber Orchestra (Classical Music)
This chamber orchestra is made up of amateur musicians who have been playing instruments for many years but are a doctor, a dentist, an architect, a director of a music academy and a businessman. This orchestra held its inaugural concert in April of this year, and they have already been acknowledged to be very talented. They plan to play diverse genres of music from Mozart to cinema music. |
Gwangju Enzian Yodel Club (World Music)
This historical club was founded in 1977 and since its inception, the members of this close-knit club has been learning how to yodel and play instruments as well as forming friendships through regular meetings. They are an experienced amateur team who has performed at over 300 concerts. |

Gwangju Ocarina Ensemble (Semiclassical Music)
This is a team of Ocarina Instructor certification course students at Chonnam National University Lifelong Education Center. Their purpose is to spread their message “From sounds to inspiration, from inspiration to love” to people who love and enjoy music and the sounds of ocarina. |
Sangsik Band (Rock)
This band was formed in 2009 to pursue a world with a healthy social awareness and where common sense holds sway. They were 1st runner up at the first National May Creative Music Festival with their song, “2010 March for The Beloved.” |

'Arabella' Ensemble (Classical Music)
This is a saxophone ensemble directed by a member of the Gwangju Symphony Orchestra. It is made up of soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones as well as a clarinet. And they create beautiful harmony. They will be performing familiar music like “lalala” and “Minuetto.” |
U.S.B (Rock)
This is an indie band currently active within the Gwangju Entertainers' Association. They usually perform their original songs and when performing covers, they rearrange the songs to reflect their own color. |

Rootmerge (World Music)
This group was formed with the purpose of creating new music or a traditional sanjo music that can be popular in our generation through the interaction of various musical factors that are based on our traditional music. Their name is a combination of the words “root music” and “merge.” |
Acoustic guitarist Lee Jang-soon and folksinger Kim Hong-gyu
This is a joint concert by two of the most talented folk musicians. Lee Jang-soon is one of the first generation acoustic guitarists in Korea who was active during the 70s and 80s. He contributed much in acoustic guitar music laying its roots in Gwangju through MBC's famous radio show Starry Night in 1972 when folksongs weren't well known in Gwangju. |
